What is the identified problem?

Due to lack of information regarding the traffic density in peak junctions, especially in peak hours, commuters tend to take the path of high traffic density. This ignorance of the commuter only adds up to the existing congestion, thereby rapidly increasing the traffic density in such areas. Also lack of alerts based on emergency conditions such as accidents, road blockage, terrain problems or water stagnation in rainy seasons will push the commuters again into battle with traffic resulting in congestion again. Considering the above problems, we have suggested solutions for the same, that are hoped to be appealing to the world.

Brief about Solution

With regards to the problems identified, the point that is to be laid emphasis on is to make traffic information available to common man at an affordable price.  For this, we suggest a system called                                                                     . This system makes use of the data (traffic density and alerts) from the Traffic Control Centers at each major intersection which is transmitted to all VMS (Variable Message Sign) boards nearby. These VMS display the traffic alerts and density confined to a specific radius around them and transmit this data to the Navigation systems in vehicles so that in case of high traffic density/congestion or any emergency situation the GPS is auto-programmed to show an alternative path to the pre-specified destination enabling the commuter to have a congestion-free journey. To make this system even more efficient, a software                   is developed in the GPS which displays the zones the vehicle is going to enter and also indicating speed-breakers, left & right turns and all the road signs and terrain information in the form of respective symbols. This system, according to us is hoped to reduce the traffic problems and congestion in cities to a great extent.

How well does the proposed solution enable great commuter experience?

It is a commuter friendly system through which one can get the traffic updates by one touch and which is at his fingertips

How attractive is this idea for partners from transportation, business, government, non profit or other sectors to get involved?

for all the sectors it is a system which brings a good traffic sense in the commuters

Environmental impact, whether the proposed idea in predominantly service based without adding more physical structures

no new interventions are made. In this we have just made use of the existing one.
