What is the identified problem?

Today, number of vehicles is increasing at an alarming rate and improvement of road infrastructure, which has its limitation, has not been able to ease the problem. Nowadays we have to run with the time....Traffic congestion affects nearly everyone in the world due to the environmental damage and transportation delay, this is the main problem in urban transports we identified.

Brief about Solution

The safe and efficient management of urban traffic remains a key goal.
                                   In this paper, we present an intelligent Traffic Congestion Monitoring & Measurement System called Traffic Monitor to monitor and measure the road traffic congestion using probe vehicle. The concept of probe vehicle has come up in recent times for collecting real time traffic data. Our system provides an easy platform to analyze the traffic movement and congestion pattern. Traffic Monitor is a rapidly deployable, cost-effective and easily maintainable traffic congestion monitoring & measurement system that combines active RFID (based on IEEE 802.15.4 protocol, 2.4 GHz ISM band) and GSM technologies.we present a comprehensive system called TrafficMonitor to detect, monitor and measure congestion over a given stretch of lane.The evaluation of the performance measures relies on the accuracy and reliability of the collected traffic data.

How well does the proposed solution enable great commuter experience?

Knowing the traffic ahead, commuter can alter his/her route, so that they can save their time and reach their destination easily. By this solution, traffic can be greatly reduced because the commuters who changed their direction do not add to the traffic ahead.

How attractive is this idea for partners from transportation, business, government, non profit or other sectors to get involved?

If we implement our idea, government's investment will be reduced to a great extent so that they can use this investment in other developing and weaker sectors. In urban areas, transportation delay will be reduced so that they can export/import their goods in time.

Environmental impact, whether the proposed idea in predominantly service based without adding more physical structures

Our idea reduces sound pollution, accidents and any other health problems to commuters. In this way our idea doesn't have any adverse impact on environment.
