What is the identified problem?
Cause of traffic jams and traffic congestion on roads.
Brief about Solution
The last digit of
registration number of any vehicle, always ranges from 0 to 9. So, if we take
only the section of vehicles that are private and restrict them to travel on
particular days. By that, we will be able to reduce at least 15% to 20% of
traffic each day.
For a clear understanding, let us consider Mondays. On this day, if we restrict the vehicles whose last digit of registered number are 0, 1, 2, and 3, we will be able to reduce great amount of traffic. Also, by doing so, we are compelling people to use public transportation for at least two days per week. We implement similar restriction on Thursdays too. In the same way, on Tuesdays and Fridays, we restrict vehicles whose last digits of registered number are 4, 5, and 6. And on Wednesdays and Saturdays, we restrict vehicles whose last digits of registered number are 7, 8, and 9.
However, there is no restriction as such on Sundays. This pattern will be repeated weekly. If any commuter is found violating the rules, severe action will be taken against the owner of the vehicle such as:
1.Confiscations of his/her driving license.
2.Confiscations of their vehicles.
And many more such actions will be taken.
This idea will not be implemented on the government or institutional sections of transportation, and also for emergency cases.
How well does the proposed solution enable great commuter experience?
It will reduce road traffic up to 20% each day. Therefore, commuters will feel free to travel.
How attractive is this idea for partners from transportation, business, government, non profit or other sectors to get involved?
It will be very useful for the government transportation section. And indirectly to other sections, by small increase in their daily savings. And also save the natural resources like fuels to some extent.
Environmental impact, whether the proposed idea in predominantly service based without adding more physical structures
It will reduce air pollution as well as noise pollution, whereas it will also be efficient in saving fuel.
