What is the identified problem?

• On many occasions /conditions we are unable to find ride for travelling within the city.

Brief about Solution

The Solution A system ( in this case a AAP) that provides real time vehicles travelling information to passengers who need transport and allows them to book a lift and vice versa.   Nomenclature

  • A1 --- Car + Smart phone owners willing to give lift to unknown passengers.
  • A2 --- fellow Passengers who have rented the cab/auto and are willing to share it                & they own a smart phone.
  • B1 --- Passengers in need of lift/ride
o   B1.1 – Passenger currently taking lift for free o   B1.2 – Passenger currently facing public transport problem (either unavailability of it or paying too much)           Functionality  A1/A2 while starting their journey submit the following details in the AAP ·         The car info ( car no , model , color ,driver gender)  ·         The travel info ( start point , destination  , route from Google map) ·         Time info ( time of start of journey , expected time of travel ) ·         Space available for lift (does he want to share luggage space?) ·         Is he willing to change route or travel little further if yes by how much ( In km )   Meanwhile B1 enters the following details: ·         Travel info ( boarding point  , destination point , travel route ) ·         Time info ( time  he requires vehicle at boarding point ) ·         No of passengers ·         Luggage space required  or not ·         gender of  A1/A2 required  (male , female ,either)   v  only travel and time info has to be entered for new journey rest is default first entry   The APP will show matching results to B1 and he chooses the most comfortable option, The request is send to A1/A2 and once he has approved the details conformation is send to both parties along with necessary details and the lift is authorized.   v  The A1/A2 can (not mandatory ) charge a max of (x )amount to be decided on per km basis which would be much less( sharing of petrol cost) than cab/auto charges also calculated by the APP and amount send to both .   Benefits of this AAP
  • Safe journey option for females as there is option of choosing gender, right now the females are unwilling to give/take lift
  • A1/A2 Can share the petrol price which is ever rising
  • B1.1 gets a guaranteed  lift in easy organized manner 
  • B1.2  gets a  cheaper & better means of transport

How well does the proposed solution enable great commuter experience?

the solution turns every privately / publicly owned on road cars into a shared cab , the customer of this service will mostly be travellers who will substitute bus travel with LIFT . thereby providing them one the best public transport commuter experience , also for the car owners who usually travel alone it acts as a new social network where you interact with strangers ,get to know them on the ride.

How attractive is this idea for partners from transportation, business, government, non profit or other sectors to get involved?

idea has great business potential since its benefiting 3 parties at the same time in terms of money and better services . 1) car owners : they get to share the petrol prices 2) fellow travellers : get comfortable ride then busses and other public medium and cheaper than auto /cabs 3) for the service provider : provides a good opportunity to earn for every successful transaction they provide. cab drivers / auto drivers : if sharing of cabs is made possible in real time some part of profits will be passed on this section as well since more no of people will be using their services and more of customer in single ride would also increase. since the service is mobile phone based hence many telecom companies be willing to join in as well as partners ,same goes with mobile & app development firms.

Environmental impact, whether the proposed idea in predominantly service based without adding more physical structures

yes the idea is service based and doesn't require any changes or addition in physical structures . but it requires the change in mentality of car owners and transport problem facing travellers . ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT : Sharing and car pooling could reduce the burning of fuel to great extent . reduction of no of on road vehicles will save time , money of many travellers.
