What is the identified problem?
Main reason for traffic • Increase in the number of cars and bikes. • Less usage of public transport. • The specific lanes for the slow and fast moving vehicles are not strictly followed. • Allowing excessive number of vehicles to pass through particular road. • Schools, colleges and offices starts same time.
Brief about Solution
Main reason for traffic is collaboration of slow and fast moving
vehicles. Cars and bikes fall under the fast moving vehicle category and public transport falls under slowing moving category. Whenever the bus wants to halt in the particular stop the other
vehicles which are behind the bus tend to halt as well. So we have to provide
separate lane for public transport. When it is provided, the movement of public
transport will be increased and it will eventually lead to increase in the
usage of public transport. This public transport lane should be to the left of the
road, so it will not cause hindrance to the fast moving vehicle when the public
transport halts at a particular stop.
Every road is designed for certain amount of traffic loads. If number of vehicles crosses that specific limit traffic congestion occurs. So we have to provide an alternate route to the vehicles for temporary time. This can be done by using the variable sign board. When the particular amount of traffic is attained in a certain road, the variable sign board should change its sign and intimate the road users to take alternate road. This enables the road user to avoid traffic congestion and also help them to reach the destination in short time. If the alternate route is longer than the main road, bikes should be diverted. If the alternate route is less congested than the main road car should be diverted. This helps in maintaining the fuel consumption level. Public transport need not to be diverted because a separate lane will be provided for it.
Mostly in the cities, schools, colleges and offices start almost by the same time. This makes all the people to flood the road at this particular time. This causes traffic congestion. Hence separate timing should be provided for schools, colleges and offices. This helps in regulating the traffic.
How well does the proposed solution enable great commuter experience?
When this proposed idea is enabled then the commuters will not face the traffic congestion. They can reach the destination easily without any difficulty. People would prefer the public transport instead of cars and bikes because it will be faster and cheaper. Thus the fuel consumption will also be reduced and benefits the government.
How attractive is this idea for partners from transportation, business, government, non profit or other sectors to get involved?
It helps in increase the usage of public transport and also helps in minimizing the consumption of the fuel since more people would prefer public transport instead of cars and bikes.
Environmental impact, whether the proposed idea in predominantly service based without adding more physical structures
This idea does not need any more physical structures. Since the number of vehicles will be minimized due to public transport usage and hence the fuel consumption is reduced, the air pollution in the cities can be drastically reduces.
